2001 Needs Assessment: Over 50% of residents surveyed thought the Town needed an outdoor pool.
2005-2015 Comprehensive Plan: Called for the town to conduct outdoor pool feasibility study.
2006 Comprehensive Plan Action Plan: Reiterated outdoor pool feasibility study as a priority.
2006 Parks Open Space and Recreation Strategic Master Plan: Outdoor pool was 1 of 5 most frequently
cited as the single most important need for parks, open space and recreation.
2019 Town Meeting: Voted overwhelmingly in support of an outdoor pool siting study.
2020 Parks Open Space and Recreation Strategic Master Plan Update: Outdoor pool ranked highly as
an important or very important need among all parks, open space and recreation needs.
- In accordance with TM resolution, 2020 Site Study Working Group: Reviewed initial site options and
  outlined the objectives and scope of the feasibility study to be completed.
2022 Town Meeting: Voted overwhelmingly for a feasibility study. State provided partial funding.
2024 Formation of Brookline Community Outdoor Pool “swim team” of residents working towards ensuring that the dream of a Brookline outdoor pool becomes a reality.
